Granby residents hopeful of new chief

GRANBY, Mo. -- Business people and other residents of Granby say they are looking forward to a Police Department that is respectful and even handed.

That hopeful outlook has been with some residents and business owners in the town of 1,900 people since the police chief and two officers were fired last week.

George Chandler, the former chief, and Trevor Keller and John Epperson, officers, were fired after a closed meeting of the City Council.

Chandler and Keller were charged two days later with illegal wiretapping, accused of secretly recording a meeting of the police review board on Sept. 4 at City Hall. They are free on bond and are to be arraigned Monday in Associate Division of Newton County Circuit Court.

An alleged incident involving Epperson at a Granby home was the topic of the Sept. 4 meeting, according to official records. City officials have said that Epperson was placed on suspension for five days in the wake of that meeting.

Sandy Blanchard, a Granby resident, declined to discuss the alleged incident at her home between members of her family and police officers.

"Our lawyers told us not to say too much," she said.

She said the incident involved a juvenile son of hers.

For the past six months, Granby residents have become distrustful of the Police Department because of aggressive tactics, she said.

"My younger son got pulled over by an officer who had his patrol car lights on because he (her 14-year-old son) crossed the street the wrong way on his bicycle," she said.

She said she feels like the police had lost respect for the community.

Said Mrs. Blanchard: "We've got a good group of kids growing up here. There's absolutely no reason to treat them like dogs."

She said the youths allegedly have been subjected to "threats" and "harassment."

"We've seen it personally," she said.

"We need someone here whose here to protect the community, not to rule us," she said.

Mike Logan, owner of a restaurant on Main Street in the heart of the town, said the police have distanced themselves from residents.

"You used to see them on the streets, and they would wave," he said. "That hasn't happened in the past few months."

He said he wants to see more community involvement by the police officers.

Said Logan: "As a businessman, I need to know the police, because if there is a problem in the store and they arrive, they need to know who belongs in here and who doesn't."

Logan said he prefers the police to maintain a "high visibility" and to treat the residents with respect.

"There's 15 churches in this town, not 15 crack houses," he said.

Logan said he would like to see the Police Department restore the former practice of doing security checks at night at local businesses.

"If they make an environment where everybody's nervous about going to the grocery and being followed; that's horrible," he said.

Thomas Craig has been acting police chief for 10 days and says he already is working on implementing some of the suggestions from residents, such as restoring the practice of security checks of businesses.

Craig worked as an officer with the Granby Police Department in 1994, leaving in 1995. He returned to the force in February.

He and his wife, a Granby native, have lived in the community for the past 2 1/2 years.

He is a former officer with the Goodman Police Department and also worked with teen-agers at the Ozark Center's Turnaround Ranch, Joplin.

He said he hopes to restore the public's perception of the local Police Department.

"I am going to try and change the public's eye on the department, so they can rely on us anytime they need us and feel they can call us."

Craig, 26, said he wants to restore foot patrols and work to implement programs for teen-agers, such as basketball and bicycle programs.

His first task is to hire two more full-time officers within the next couple of weeks.

"Then we'll go door-to-door and sit down and speak with them (residents), and let them know it's a changed department," he said.

In addition to Craig, the department currently has a full-time officer, a part-time officer and three reserve officers.

Craig said the town does have some crime problems, including drugs and vandalism, just like other towns. He said officers would continue to work on fighting those problems.

But the department also will focus on working with the public to accomplish goals.

Vern Styron, a longtime resident and former mayor, said residents want the Police Department to "build a good image."

"We want someone who can use discretion and keep the respect of the people, and not get the reputation for harassing everybody who

Notes:

1. This is of course bullshit. The thieving inbreds at City Hall have always wanted a thuggish police force to harass people. This is why they sneaked and connived for years to get rid of an elected City Marshall position. Once they got what they wanted, they hired the most stupid thugs they could find to become its pig-lice officers.

At that time, the thieving City Hall Inbreds had gotten caught with their piglice thugs committing all manner of crimes. So it became necessary for them to tell everyone who would listen, aided by the media whores, that they had actually changed, and now their piglice department was filled with wonderful honest caring piglice. Glossing over the Piglice State.

2. Epperson is one of the pigs who was called over by me one time to take away the doper neighbors' pit bulls that had gotten out, as opposed to me shooting them, as I did in Oct. 1996. Since I am convinced that the doper neighbors are growing pot and selling dope for the Mayor of Granby Craig Hopper, it was not surprizing that Epperson and Chandler came up with the nonsense that they didn't think the dog in question was a pit bull. I asked the two thugs since when they had become veternarians as opposed to pigs.

In any case, Chandler and Epperson were two of the thugs who showed up at the Blanchard house, pushed their way past the old man, and arrested the son without benefit of a warrant.

What made this unforgivable, as opposed to Chandler pushing into houses and beating up most people was the fact that in this inbred town the Blanchards are cousins to one of the Burress,' who supposedly have a homosexual cop son and are on the police board. This means that pigs can do whatever they please, just as long as they do it to ordinary citizens.

3. I doubt that their weasels are getting any money out of the Granby Police State, i.e., the anus of Newton County Missouri. .

.

4. Logan is a hypocritical lying shithead and a refugee from California. Way back in 1994, when this tax-rebate muncher had first moved to the Granby Piglice State, I tried to get this lying shithead to say something against the expansion of the piglice state in Granby. Yet this lying cretin refused.

"Back in California, we have a lot more police than you do here. The police are my friends. I think we need more police in Granby."

Typical California ass-licker. Scum like him made California the way it is, a piglice state favoring the ruling regime criminals and letting the criminal element run wild. So having made California the way it is, this piece-of-shit becomes a refugee and then wants to create another California just like the one he ran away from.

When I heard this hippie maggot scum justify a expansion of the Granby Piglice State, I swore that I would never patronize this ass-licker's business. I have kept my oath.

.

4B. Crack is a nigger's drug, and there are no niggers or Mexicans in this haven of inbred white trash. Instead, the pigs and the inbreds prefer to smoke their home-grown pot, as grown by my next-door doper neighbors who have the pit bulls. Mayor Craig Hopper and the Granby Piglice are snouts-down in the drug business, which is why they got huffy when I shot the doper neighbor's most ferocious pit-bull with a SKS rifle when the stupid, but brave dog charged me on Oct. 29, 1996. A man who will shoot pit bulls probably wouldn't hesitate to shoot pigs, as they correctly look at it.

In any case, Missouri has more meth labs than California has. So as the anus of Newton County with a prolific swarm of an inbred white criminal element, it is more than likely that Granby has as many meth labs as they do churches.

.

4C. I bet this ass-licker hates the down side of running a piglice state. The natives boycott this criminal regimeist's business, and the out-of-town traffic wants nothing to do with him. Unless you have a good reason to go to Granby -- you don't. So as a result, business is down, even though this ass-licker isn't smart or honest enough to have made the connection until Granby became known as a corrupt pig-lice state.

5. Thomas ought to get some sort of reward. He is the pig who squealed on Chandler and Keller about the wiretapping.

Of course Craig was one of the pigs who showed his face at Newton County to press charges against me after Chandler and Keller assaulted me on the night of July 24, 1997. He is probably one of the pigs, along with the police bitch Jeanie Rees, who thought it was hilarious when they told my scared brother, "The Police Chief is 'taking care' of your brother."

Pig Thomas is long gone now. But at the time the Granby Police State had to try conning the fools into believing that the remaining pigs were 'good pigs' and that a new era of piglice-public relations would begin. The Joplin Globe was part of the news media involved in this campaign of lies, as they did not publish my account of being assaulted by the Granby Piglice Chief Chandler, and certainly did not interview me, but rather the Blanchard heifer.

.

.

6. Of course he wants people to drop their guard. When pigs are caught acting according to their pig nature, they wish to explain away the tusks and snout. These cowardly fascist swine prefer unarmed victims and are scared to death that the people will arise and deal with the criminal element, starting with the piglice.

What is the function of the piglice department? It is to act as 'law enforcement' on behalf of the criminal regime. It is to collect taxes and impose the will of the rulers on the people. So the people have absolutely no reason to love the police, even if the police ranks were not filled with psychotic, amoral, cowardly criminals and uniformed thugs.

7. The Styron family is one of the main inbreds who tried to establish the Granby Police State. Like the Californicated Cretin Logan, he runs a business called The Tree-House in Granby, which relies on outside business, temporarily stalled by the Granby Piglice State's notoriety at the time.

The Styron family agitated for the end of the City Marshall system and for the establishment of a Pig-Lice State, secure in the knowledge that the piglice wouldn't be giving them tickets. Emory Styron, the son, when he was running the Newton County Inbred-Screws kept on agitating, in the whore-rag, for the establishment of a piglice Department, "just like all the other towns have."

Pat Styron, the wife of Vern, whined to my brother Mike, "That Martin showed his ass. He asked a whole bunch of questions about that TIF thing. (Tax Incremental Funding -- a scheme by which the thieving inbreds who run businesses around here get the taxpayers to expand their businesses.) And he has a WWW page where he is going to trash out the town of Granby."

My brother asked her, "Just where were you when the police falsely arrested my brother and beat him up while handcuffed? I didn't hear you making any complaint then! So you will just have to live with what my brother chooses to put up on his WWW page.

That, dear reader, is exactly what is happening now. I can't keep these underbred inbreds from acting according to their nature, but I certainly can tell everyone about them and their activities.
