Friends, Aryans, Countrymen

 Friends, Aryans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
 I come to bury dead America, not to praise her.
 The smallest faults may live on, and yet the
 Good is oft interred with dusty bones;
 So let it be with America. The noble Clinton
 Hath told you old America was "too white":
 If it were so, it may be a fault to pressure break,
 But grievously hath America broken to't;
 Here, lying quiet now by leave of Clinton and the rest--
 For Clinton is an honourable man;
 So are "they" all, all honourable men--

 America was my friend, faithful and just to me:
 But Clinton says 'twas "too white";
 And Clinton is an honourable man.
 America hath brought many victories home to rule:
 Did this in America seem "too white"?
 When that the poor have cried, America hath wept
 And drawn from within itself strength:
 Whiteness should be made of sterner stuff:
 Yet Clinton says it was "too white";
 And Clinton is an honourable man.

 You all have seen how thrice this century America did
 Have opportunity well and good to the world rule; and
 Yet didst decline. Was this "too white"?
 Yet Clinton says it was "too white";
 And, sure, he is an honourable man.
 Here I am to speak what I do know.
 You all did love America once, not without cause:
 What cause withholds you then, to mourn for her?
 O judgment! thou art fled to distant parts,
 And men have lost their reason.

 It seems but yesterday America's word alone might
 Have stood against the rest; now lies it here.
 O my friends and masters of my duty,
 If I were disposed to stir your hearts and minds
 To mutiny and rage, I should do Clinton wrong,
 And wrong the Jews as well,
 Who, you all know, are all honourable men.
 I wouldst not wrong such honourable men as they,
 And yet, here, here and now, consider your heritage
 So received from old America's bounty, and then
 you might approach and kiss the dead land's wounds
 And dip the flag in her sacred blood,
 Yea, beg a bit, the merest scrap of that land for memory,
 And, yourself dying someday, mention it in your will,
 Bequeathing it as a rich legacy unto your issue alone.

 It is best you know not how old America loved you.
 You are not wood, not stones, but men;
 And, being men, knowing that truth would?
 Inflame you, and make you truly mad.
 'Tis good you know not the truth of America's deeds,
 And those misdeeds that acted against and upon hers';
 For, if you should, O, what would come of it!

 And should you demand this, the newest Testament?
 I fear I wouldst wrong the honourable men
 Whose daggers have stabb'd America; I do fear it?.

 All right then, be patient and make a ring
 About the corpse of America,
 And let me show you the land that bled so.
 If you have tears, prepare to shed them now.
 You all do know this white sheet: I remember
 The best times ever America didst put it on;
 'Twas on a summer's evening, shortly after
 she o'ercame the Kaiser in the forests of Argonne:
 Look, in this bloody spot ran the Jewish dagger through:
 See what a rent the envious Jigs have made:
 Through this the well-served Clinton stabb'd;
 And as he pluck'd his cursed steel away,
 Mark how the blood of America follow'd it,
 As if rushing out to end
 The painfull madness of a slow dying.
 Ingratitude, perhaps still more than traitors' arms,
 Quite vanquish'd her, and burst the mighty heart;
 Whilst all the blood did so run, great America fell!
 And then you and I, and all of us fell down,
 Whilst bloody fucking treason flourish'd over us!

 Ah, now you weep; and, I perceive, you feel
 The dint of pity, for whom, I wonder?
 Yet, these are gracious drops.
 Kind souls, what, weep ye still when ye behold
 Our land so torn asunder?
 Marr'd, as you see, by traitors, yet you cannot see
 How to mar the traitors, to meet with, greet and treat them,
 With the same kindness and consideration?or even more.
 So, go ye now to visit them and enquire with blades unsheathed
 The nature of their, I have no doubt, quivering and oh so
 "Noble" response to these, not mine! but your forthright
 Accusations, born anew from a birthright once forgot.

 Go ye now, my friends.
